Concerned Citizens looking for volunteers

Concerned Citizens delivers meals on wheels 5 days a week in Jacksboro. The number of baby boomers turning 60 is growing daily. Meals on Wheels is a proven public-private partnership that effectively addresses the challenges of aging by promoting health and improving quality of life for our senior citizens and handicapped individuals. With your help we have the opportunity to not only keep seniors at home, but also save tax dollars by keeping them out of more costly healthcare alternatives. The cost of 1 year for a senior to receive meals on wheels is often less than 1 day in a hospital. If you or someone you know needs a meal please call Concerned Citizens. Each weekday around 10:30 to 11:30, meals on wheels volunteers deliver much more than hot nutritious food. For home bound seniors, our visits mean contact with the outside world and the chance to remain at home. Consider some real nourishment at your next lunch hour. Volunteer for Concerned Citizens’ Meals on Wheels and enjoy a lunch hour that’s good for your heart. Volunteers are the hearts and hands of the meals on wheels program. Their caring, dedicated, and generous help turns our goals into realities and our efforts into accomplishments. As a meals on wheels volunteer, you can make a difference in the life of our senior citizens and disabled citizens. Your group or office can Adopt-a-Route and deliver meals one day a week. By rotating delivery teams, individual staff or members would only deliver once a month, but the team would help seniors and handicapped folks every week. Be a part of the team of caring volunteers who allow frail, home bound persons to remain in their homes….where they want to be.

Call 567-2607 or come by Concerned Citizens to deliver meals and so much more……
