For students belonging to the local 4H and FFA chapters, the weekend of January 8th and 9th were the beginning of “Stock Show” season. With usually cold temperatures (after all, what would stock show season be without freezing cold and damp weather?) the kids took to the barn to wash and primp their animals for the show ring. Like an athlete, the show kids spend hours upon hours preparing these animals, and their dedication is evident. Quite often the judges have a hard time picking which of them to give the buckle or ribbon to. The results are in (on most of the shows, but not all) and are as follows:
