Belcher takes Place 2 in City Council election.

Melanie Belcher is celebrating tonight, as she realizes her dream of becoming a member of the Jacksboro City Council. Belcher, the Community Liason for Faith Community Hospital, has been involved in many community projests and is anxious to get involved with the next phase of her public career.

Also in the election, Alton Morris Jr will take over the position of Mayor. The uncontested position became open when Mayor Lewis James decided it was time to take a well deserved break. Place 4 saw another uncontested race, with Joe Mitchell securing his spot on the Council.
