Members of the Bryson Booster Club got students and fans in the “spirit” for Homecoming.
Thursday night kicked off the Cowboys homecoming festivities with the annual bonfire and pep-rally. But, this year the booster club decided to put a little spin on things. Each high school class competed in races to determine who would win the coveted “Spirit Stick”.
Events for the night included:
- Football Field Goal Toss
- Three-Legged Race
- Wheel Barrow Race
- Panty Hose Tug-of-War
- Ping Pong Hop
- Mr. & Mrs. Cowboy
The night was filled with laughter, cheers, and some tears – for the Senior class. Each class had some pretty competitive and comical participants. There was even some alumni that joined in on the festivities, members of the classes of 1991 and 1961 showed off thier skills in the wheel barrow race. When the dust settled and the points were tallied the SENIORS came out victorious!!
For this reporter the most memorable event of the night took place before the lighting of the bonfire. The senior class presented Senior Mom, Callie Pippin, with a “Bryson Cowboy Senior Mom” shirt and her stick to light the bonfire in honor of her son Bailey, who had sadly passed away in 2013.
The night was a big hit and I can’t wait to see what the Booster Club comes up with in the future.
