The Jack County Child Welfare Board drew winning tickets for their first raffle fundraiser at the Reindeer Games on Thursday, December 10. Winning the queen size hand-made quilt donated by Julie Campsey was Jean Straughn of Jacksboro.
Crystal Damron of Graham won the crocheted baby afghan made by Debbie Hearne of Bryson and Becky Walden of Bryson was the winner of the $100 gift card from Graham Wal-mart.
The board would like to thank Julie, Debbie, and Wal-Mart for their generous donations and to each person who bought tickets.
The Board, comprised of members from Bryson, Jacksboro, and Perrin has also been conducting a mail donation drive offering donors a chance to serve the children of Jack County as we strive toward the goal of happy, healthy children and whole, stable families in our community.
The Board provided 38 children with a brighter Christmas this year, along with year-long projects to buy school supplies, provide emergency resources for children in need, award scholarships to graduating seniors from Perrin, Bryson, and Jacksboro, and donation of cars seats to the Jacksboro Police Department to safely transport children. Support for foster care families, CPS needs, aid for community projects for children, and Child Abuse Awareness are also ways donations are utilized.
