The annual Concerned Citizens arts and craft fair was held this past weekend. The much anticipated yearly event is always a success for both shoppers and artisans alike, this year’s event did not disappoint. With fair weather over the weekend, shoppers had the perfect opportunity to cross many items off their Christmas lists. From wooden signs to jewelry to baked goods, there were many items to choose from. Our own August Kitchenista of the Month, Frances Easter, was there selling her famous cookbooks. Another of our Kitchenistas, Sherry Rupe, was selling her baked goods. Many other local faces were there selling the many items they are best known for. Several vendors traveled a distance to participate and seemed to be in good spirits Friday evening. With just 31 days left until Christmas, most people find themselves in “full shopping mode”. Several local businesses are hoping to see their first Christmas in Jacksboro as a success and are encouraging locals to shop in Jacksboro. With new retailers, the shopping season should be less hassle than in previous times and certainly closer to home.
