The Jack County Courthouse brought out the curious yesterday. The simple gesture to show support for the Perrin Homecoming (this week) raised quite a few eyebrows. Six Pirate flags were raised in front of the courthouse, and as they tossed in the late summer wind, it brought a lot of attention. One Facebook page had the following post…
How come there’s pirate flags around the courthouse and none others
A simple question, yet one that set off a flurry of comments. Overall, the Pirate flags were a welcomed addition to the normal scenery of the downtown area. The public opinion was nearly unanimous in favor of the county support of all schools.
Both Bryson and Jacksboro will be invited to fly their colors during the weeks of their homecoming games. The county is also considering allowing schools to fly a flag to honor academic success as well.
As many of the participants of the social media frenzy stated “We are a county that has 3 school districts, we need to support ALL of them.” With the show of support from the county this week, we are off to a great start. Look for the Bryson colors to fly the week of September 25th, and Jacksboro the week of October 2nd.
