Mutual aid calls were toned out earlier today to assist the Bryson and Jermyn departments in fighting multiple fires that were burning between Bryson and Jermyn, on State highway 1191. The fires began just before noon, and as of 3:30 p.m. the fire departments were still out. Structures were threatened early on, with no official reports of damage at the time of this report. At approximately 12:45, the dispatch called for mutual aid from any available departments in the county.
Although temperatures were a bit down this afternoon, the vegetation around the county is plentiful, and dry, making conditions right for grass fires. Caution is encouraged by authorities.
