The celebration of Holy Week was, once again, a great success. Large crowds gathered each day at lunch time for meals fit for kings and words about THE King! Cost of a meal was whatever the giver wanted to donate and nobody who attending walked away hungry.
Starting with Monday, the highly experienced “chefs” at First United Methodist Church served a delicious ham and “trimmin’s” while Cassie Wade brought the service. Tuesday brought a delicious Mexican lunch from the Christian Missions Church, with Eugene Weldon giving his message. Wednesday was a BBQ meal brought by the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro. Richard Cleghorn gave the service that day. Thursday was a combined effort from Live Oak Baptist and Bible Baptist Churches, where BJ Nunley gave his sermon as guests enjoyed a salad meal. Wrapping up the week was a chicken spaghetti meal provided by the Jacksboro Parish, with Suzanne Castle sharing God’s word.
The annual event was created to bring the community together in fellowship, and to share God’s message that grace knows no denominations.
