Jack County kids “represent” at Ft Worth Stock Show

With the stock show season rolling along, many of the Jack County students are finally able to step into the show ring and put to test that which they have spent so much of their time and energy on. From goats to Longhorn cattle to tractors and trailers, Jack County was well represented this past weekend.

From Bryson, Hailey Neal showed a couple of Longhorns. Neal is the only student showing Longhorns from Jack County, and was not able to show her cattle at the Jack County Youth Fair show because the county show does not have a class for the breed. Disappointing to the 8th grader, who set her sights on Ft Worth instead.

Also from Bryson, the Ag Mechanics team brought home a blue ribbon for a log splitter and a trailer they built and a third place in Hydraulics.

Jacksboro FFA Ag mechanics and tractor restoration teams this weekend received 3rd place with a 45′ hay trailer and a 1940 John Deere L and also a 4th place with the 1948 John Deere B model.

From Perrin, Kate Argo walked out of the arena with a 5th place in the goat Costume Contest. Argo and her goat, Frosty, dressed as Uncle Si and Willy Robertson of the famous Duck Dynasty show. Each (human)contestant was interviewed by the announcer in front of a packed house.

Also from Perrin, former Pirate Ashley Hamilton (RAD Show Goats) brought home a 6th place with her goat in one of the class shows.

The Jack County New Edition will post results as we receive notices! Good luck to all those that are showing!
