JPD assists in drug bust, the Feds get their man…

The community of Jacksboro can sleep a little better now, knowing the local law enforcement put a big dent in the trafficking of meth. Jacksboro Police Department released a statement yesterday concerning the details of a recent drug bust that the department assisted with. The following press release by Chief Terry McDaniel states:

On May 3, 2016, the Jacksboro Police Department assisted officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigative Division and the US drug Enforcement Administration, who arrested Michael Reeves, 46, for Conspiracy to Possess With Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, after a lengthy investigation. Reeves is currently in federal custody. DEA was contacted by the Jacksboro Police Department, and DEA, working with DPS CID began the investigation.

Chief McDaniel stated “I am very pleased by all the hard work and diligence from DEA and Texas DPS CID in their efforts to help our community and the City of Jacksboro. I’ve worked with both agencies for many years and we appreciate all the work they have done for us.”
