September 4th will be remembered by many as a day of tribute. Law Enforcement from local agencies participated in the “Lights on for Goforth” memorial to remember the fallen officer from the Houston area that lost his life in the line of duty on August 28th. The one minute tribute to the officer was then followed by a prayer gathering held at the steps of the courthouse. Later, at the Jacksboro High School Pep Rally, the Jacksboro Police Department was recognized by the school for their service to the community.
Although the tributes were somewhat impromptu, they were touching to those who witnessed them. The prayer service at the courthouse brought both tears and a swell of pride from the crowd as they took time to thank the different departments for what they do.
