Each summer the Jack County Fair Association hosts the annual Showdown, and this year is no different! Preparations are being made for the annual event, slated for tonight at the Twin Lakes Activity Center. Proceeds from the event will benefit 4-H, FFA and FCCLA students, county wide. Tickets purchased will help to meet the financial needs for serving the youth of Jack County.
The JCFA is selling chances on a 2015 pickup from James Woods Motors. Along with the giveaway, there will be a Showdown Party (the 17th annual). The party will include great food, fun, live music, dancing, fellowship and a live auction. The fun and entertainment will lead up to the draw-down to the lucky winner of the pickup. In case you’ve never witnessed a “draw-down”, here is how it works: 298 tickets will be sold prior to the event. Two tickets will be held back, making a total of 300 tickets. One of the remaining 2 tickets will be raffled off after the 290th ticket is pulled. This gives the ticket holder a spot in the top 10. (Chances for the top 10 ticket are only $10). Following the drawing for the ticket #295, the other remaining ticket will be auctioned off, with the winner getting a guaranteed place in the top 5. names will be called until only the winner remains!
A donation of $125 gets the buyer a chance at the pickup plus 2 tickets for the Showdown Party. There will be 4 additional prize drawings. Winner MUST BE PRESENT to win one of these prizes. Only 300 tickets will be printed. Winner of the pickup need not be present to win, but won’t want to miss a second of the party!
The meal will be served at 7 p.m. and the dance will begin at 8 p.m.
Don’t miss the fun and great opportunity to support the youth of our county!
